Tech Triumphs: A Look Back at 2023’s Game-Changing Innovations
As we reflect on the technological advancements made in 2023, it is clear that AI has seen remarkable progress. Let's take a moment to acknowledge the technological leaps that have shaped the past year. 2023 has been a year of extraordinary innovation.
According to Gartner , generative AI (Gen AI) is a type of AI that can generate content like text, images, and audio. Gen AI achieves this by recognizing patterns in existing data and using this knowledge to generate new outputs.
Gartner predicts that by 2026, more than 80% of enterprises will have used Gen AI APIs and models.
Adobe Photoshop Generative Expand and Generative Fill
Adobe has introduced Generative Fill in Photoshop, a feature that brings AI-powered Firefly technology directly into the hands of designers. This technology has already impressed the world, and even though Adobe wasn't the first to bring this text-to-image technology, it has managed to take advantage of its existing user base of over 30 million creators. Since its release, Generative Fill has evolved and integrated into most aspects of Adobe, from Creative Cloud to GenStudio for enterprise customers.
Gen-2
Runway, a well-funded startup, has created Gen 2, an AI-powered video generation and editing platform, built upon the diffusion architecture. Released in March 2023, Gen-2 is considered pivotal in terms of video generation and editing. It improved on its predecessor, Gen-1, by allowing users to generate new four-second-long videos from scratch through its proprietary AI model. Users also have the option to upload images and add motion to them with the help of Gen-2. The update in September introduced a Director's mode, which allows users to create visuals by choosing the direction and speed of the movement in their Runway generated clips. Additionally, the model has undergone significant improvements to enhance its fidelity and consistency of results.
Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is a highly advanced AI-powered productivity tool developed by Microsoft. Originally launched as Bing Chat on February 7, 2023, it's now integrated into Microsoft Bing and Microsoft Edge as a built-in feature. This tool uses the power of AI to enhance productivity, foster creativity, and facilitate better information comprehension through a simple chat interface. It seamlessly integrates several Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, as well as large language models (LLMs), and content from Microsoft Graph. Designed to complement popular Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft Copilot is currently supported only in Microsoft Edge or Chrome browsers on Windows and MacOS. It has been proposed by Microsoft as a suitable replacement for the discontinued Cortana. The primary objective of Microsoft Copilot is to provide quick, personalized answers, streamline your work, boost creativity, and enhance your overall user experience.
