On October 20, reports from Beijing News revealed that 小米科技 has successfully completed the tape-out of its first domestic 3nm process smartphone system-on-chip (SoC). This milestone signifies a significant advancement in Xiaomi's journey of developing its own mobile SoCs.
In August, industry insights indicated that Xiaomi's self-developed SoC was projected for an official launch in the first half of 2025, anticipated to utilize 台积公司 's N4P technology. At that time, it was estimated that the performance of this new generation SoC would be comparable to 高通 's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
However, recent updates suggest that Xiaomi's approach is more ambitious than initially expected, as it has opted for the cutting-edge 3nm process right from the start. This is likely to be based on TSMC's flagship N3E technology. Additionally, sources familiar with the industry have shared that Xiaomi's SoC will feature Arm's latest Cortex-X925 ultra-high-performance CPU core.
According to Arm's official information, the Cortex-X925 is the most powerful CPU core developed by Arm to date. It is built on the latest Armv9.2 instruction set, supporting SVE and SVE2 instructions. This new core boasts a 36% improvement in single-threaded performance compared to flagship CPU cores from 2023.
To manage power consumption, 联发科技 ’s Dimensity 9400, which features an all-large-core design, incorporates just one Cortex-X925. Speculation suggests that Xiaomi's SoC may adopt a configuration comprising one Cortex-X925 ultra-high-performance core, three Cortex-X4 large cores, and four Cortex-520 cores.

Given the implementation of the Cortex-X925 CPU core, it is only logical for Xiaomi to pair it with Arm's latest flagship GPU, the Immortalis-G925. Arm has stated that the Immortalis-G925 supports fragment pre-processing and dual tiling and shifting unit throughput, delivering enhanced and sustained frame rates while providing rich features and extended gaming sessions. This GPU is the most powerful and efficient to date, achieving a 37% increase in graphics performance compared to its predecessor, the Immortalis-G720, while reducing power consumption by 30% at similar performance levels. It supports popular mobile games at an average frame rate of 120 frames per second, significantly enhancing ray tracing performance for complex objects.
