Tech News Today (December 10, 2023): Apple patched a loophole that disables Beeper Mini, an iMessage app for Android devices, and Grok mentions OpenAI in its responses attracting the attention of Elon Musk.

Apple kills another iMessage app for Android

Within a week of its launch, Beeper Mini, an app that enabled iMessage on Android smartphones has been disabled by Apple by fixing a loophole that led Beeper to receive and deliver messages to Android smartphones via the official Apple push notification service. Beeper Mini is a paid app, which costs Rs 190 a month, however, the company has been offering a free subscription for a week.

Grok accused of using OpenAI's code

GrokAI was recently made available for X Premium+ subscribers. In some of the responses, Grok has referenced OpenAI. However, the co-founder of xAI Corp has stated that Grok has not used any code from OpenAI and this error is caused due to the fact that Grok is trained on a large amount of web data, which also includes OpenAI's ChatGPT-generated content.

Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop launch

Acer launches a new Ryzen 8040 CPU-powered ( up to Ryzen 7 8845HS) gaming laptop -- Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) along with the up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series laptop GPU. The device comes with built-in Ryzen AI technology and includes a 16-inch display with 165Hz refresh rate. This laptop offers up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and 2 TB of internal storage with a starting price of $999.99 and will be available from April 2024 in select markets.

Instagram introduces Tags for Threads

Similar to hashtags on X, previously known as Twitter, Instagram has introduced Tags for Threads, which are similar to hashtags, allowing users to follow a topic and to connect with individuals, and there is a limitation of one tag per post.

The boAt Lunar Pro is powered by the Jio network features a 1.39-inch circular display along with an easy-to-replace strap.
