In recent industry developments, rumors suggest that 英伟达 is preparing to launch a cutting-edge chip integrating the next-generation Arm Cortex CPU cores with its Blackwell GPU cores, targeting the AI-powered Windows on Arm PC market.
Currently, 高通 leads the charge in developing ARM-based Windows systems, with 微软 leveraging these chips for its new Surface Laptop and Pro tablet series. Qualcomm has announced that its OEM partners are set to introduce 20 models of Copilot+ PCs, highlighting the growing interest in AI-enhanced computing.
Sources indicate that NVIDIA aims to join this dynamic sector. The renowned GPU manufacturer is reportedly working on a system on a chip (SoC) that combines Arm's Cortex-X5 core design with GPUs based on NVIDIA's newly released Blackwell architecture.
While Arm has not commented on these developments, NVIDIA stated, "We have no announcements to make today." However, considering NVIDIA's substantial investments in AI, it is logical for the company to seek a larger presence in the AI PC market, which is evolving around CPUs with built-in AI acceleration and Windows support for these features. NVIDIA already has its Grace Arm CPU design, primarily aimed at data center applications.
Reports suggest that NVIDIA's upcoming consumer-focused SoC will feature an as-yet-unannounced Blackwell-based RTX GPU, equipped with LPDDR6 memory.
The Cortex-X5, succeeding last year's Cortex-X4, is Arm's next-generation high-performance core for smartphones and laptops. Codenamed Blackhawk, this core is expected to deliver significantly enhanced performance compared to existing Arm cores, although it has yet to be officially released.
