Find out more details in the next section of the digest.
Layoffs at Tech Giants
Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have recently laid off many employees due to shifting priorities. The companies are focusing on integrating artificial intelligence, partially explaining the staff cuts and the move toward automation. Over a thousand employees have been affected by these layoffs.
Massive Leak of Google Documentation
Recently, documents titled "yoshi-code-bot / elixer-google-api" from Google API were leaked online. They contain over 14,000 ranking functions, signals, and factors used by the search engine for indexing sites and pages. Now, anyone interested can analyze this documentation.
Interesting Updates from Apple
It is great that the Cupertino developers will finally let us change the position of the icons on the home screen. But that's not the most exciting news from the presentation. With the release of iOS 18, we'll get new artificial intelligence capabilities and updated Siri with ChatGPT. That's what we've been waiting for from Apple for so long.?
Emergence of Combat Robot Prototypes
NATO's Technology Fund has invested over $1.1 billion in developing autonomous combat bots. New AI-based systems can do many tasks, from evacuating wounded and delivering supplies to the front lines to clearing minefields, jamming UAVs, and engaging in direct combat.
Evolution of Humanoids
Ex-Robots are developing new methods to make robotic systems look more human. The company is creating realistic silicone masks and using a complex mechanical mimicry system to make new humanoids more lifelike. At least with AI, these robots will be able to react naturally to their surroundings.
Release of the Progressive LLM model
The new model from Anthropic, called Claude 3.5 Sonnet, has become more cost-effective and smarter than its predecessors. In identical tests, LLM demonstrated performance and accuracy at 64%, compared to the previous model's 38%. It is noted that Claude 3.5 Sonnet surpasses even GPT-4o in several parameters.

LLM from Nvidia
Nvidia's Nemotron-4 340B model has been trained on over 9 billion tokens and can compete with GPT-4 in some tests. This is another open-source generative artificial intelligence with a free license, allowing LLM to be applied in a wide range of scenarios and industries, including those with sensitive data.
Another Fail in the world of AI
McDonald's has been testing its drive-thru system in about 100 restaurants for over two years. The goal was to see whether artificial intelligence could replace workers and expedite order processing. While the company claims the test was successful, many memes online suggest that the technology still has issues.
That's all the global news for today.
