Tech News: OpenAI Rumored to Launch ChatGPT Search Engine to Challenge Google

OpenAI is reportedly gearing up to launch a new search engine product based on its ChatGPT chatbot technology, potentially as soon as this week. This move could position OpenAI in direct competition with 谷歌 's search engine, as it aims to offer a fresh and innovative approach to online search.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the new feature will allow users to pose questions to ChatGPT and receive detailed answers derived from various sources such as Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia entries and blog posts. This version of the product may also provide relevant text and images alongside responses, enhancing the user experience.

The launch of this search functionality will also expand on the capabilities currently available to certain ChatGPT users. This development aligns with earlier speculations from February, when rumors about OpenAI working on a search product first emerged.

While responding to Fridman’s comparison between ChatGPT and Google Search. Altman said, “I find that boring. I mean, if the question is if we can build a better search engine than Google or whatever, then sure, we should go, people should use the better product.”?
