Welcome to issue #3 of the Tech news round-up, based on a curated collection of all the various pieces of news (and other) articles that I’ve come across (and then posted about) on LinkedIn - largely in the following areas:?
Starting this week with content - and specifically that which is on Streaming services, here are a couple of articles that talk around FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) - including how linear broadcast TV libraries can help build out offerings, and how further compelling content is required as these services grow/mature:
Keeping with the Streaming theme, niche platforms can use FAST channels, along with Universal Search, and Personalisation, in order that they can compete with larger platforms:
One particular platform that does a lot of Streaming is TikTok - which is apparently launching a standalone hub dedicated to Gaming:
On that Gaming theme then (but also mixing in a bit of VR for good measure), Audi and holoride are collborating on VR-based entertainment experiences inside of select cars in the Audi range - leading to my favourite new term of the week: the Motorverse!

It’s also been a busy week inside the wonderful world of VR, with the PS VR2 getting official launch timing (Feb 2023 launch, with Pre-orders starting 15th Nov, in case you’re interested!):
And sitting alongside VR we have AR - for which TeamViewer and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team demoed an AR viewing experience for the W13:
Finally for this week, we have a close relation to VR and AR in the form of motion tracking - this time in the domain of Premier League Football, to produce sub-second positional data.
Of course, watching Premium Sport on TV is looping back round to our starting topic of content!
If you liked the above, here are some other things I posted on:
That’s it for now - have a great week!
