?? Tech literacy, confidence-building, and the art of the elevator pitch.

?? Welcome, dear friends, to another exciting chapter in my ALX Foundations journey! As I stepped into Week 12, I couldn't help but reflect on the well-deserved break in Week 11. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge my batteries, entering Month 3 feeling charged up and ready to conquer with newfound energy, enthusiasm, and inspiration.

?? Week 11, in essence, was a strategic pause – a moment to catch my breath before venturing wholeheartedly into the final leg of this incredible learning experience. But it was also about setting the stage for what was to come. Now, let me take you through the highlights of week 12:

?

?? Managing Tasks and Crafting a Gantt Chart: My first lesson in Week 12 was all about task management and creating a comprehensive work plan using the power of a Gantt chart. Organizing my tasks has never felt more empowering!

?? Daily 3: Recommit or Quit: Two full months of experimenting with these healthy daily habits – it was time for a candid reflection. What habits truly work for me? This introspection is an essential part of growth.

?? Peer Coaching on Daily 3: In the spirit of collaboration, I joined forces with a peer for an interactive session on our Daily 3 practices. We rated ourselves, discussed block analysis, and explored strategies to overcome challenges. Learning is so much richer when shared!

?? Getting Ready for Specialization: Before I embarked wholeheartedly into my tech track, it was crucial to revisit my Global Challenge and Opportunity (GCGO). ALX reminded me never to lose sight of the bigger picture, to dream big, and to envision being part of a tech team that pioneers ground-breaking solutions. It was a reminder to stay informed and to keep an open mind about my potential contributions to lasting tech solutions, particularly in my area of interest – healthcare.

?? Tech Literacy: How the Web Works: One thing that unites all tech specializations is their reliance on the internet and the World Wide Web (WWW). So, before I delved deeper into my chosen specialization, I immersed myself in the foundational knowledge of how the internet operates. Understanding the web is like grasping the backbone of tech!

?? Choosing My Tech Track: ALX introduced various tech tracks, but I had the liberty to focus on my preferred one. I was eager to engage with this dynamic realm of AWS Cloud Computing.

??? AWS Specialization: In my specialization, I ventured into the world of cloud computing trends. We pondered questions about emerging trends in Cloud Computing for 2023, what prompts companies to transition to the cloud, and the myriad benefits it brings. Cloud computing is the future, and I'm thrilled to be part of this transformation!

?? Workplace Skills Pt 1: Personal branding and confidence-building took center stage. In today's highly digitized economy, how you present your credentials online matters immensely. Confidence is a skill everyone can build, and I've learned some valuable techniques.

In this module, I learnt and mastered a few behaviours you can try that will help you feel more confident over time.

  • Be intentional in how you greet people:

Smile, Put warmth in your voice, Use positive body language (eye contact, standing tall, uncrossing your arms).

  • Catch and stop yourself if you do any of these behaviours that put yourself down:

Speaking quietly or hesitantly, apologizing for speaking, using qualifiers like "I may be wrong", "I just got lucky", and "What do I know?"

Speaking with a question mark in all your sentences, Using demeaning phrases to describe yourself, such as "I'm just a rookie, I'm just a newbie".

  • Commit to making one comment or asking one question in an upcoming meeting:

Start with a low-pressure meeting like a peer coaching session, Write down one comment or question you can ask; practice saying it out loud in front of a mirror, Have an accountability partner (a peer) to help you follow through with the question/ comment during the meeting.

?I hope you found this Behaviours helpful?

??? Elevator Pitches and Bios: Crafting a succinct self-introduction is an art. I collaborated with peers to create, share, and refine my elevator pitch. Additionally, I crafted a bio – a written introduction that aims to impress and inform. I think it’s an impressive bio, check out my LinkedIn profile to see for yourself.

??? Skills Map Update: Been the first week in month 3, the last month of my ALX foundations journey, it was a great time to update my skills map. It's a visual representation of my journey so far, helping me recognize how far I've come and where I need to focus for further growth.

Take a look.

My skills map @week 12.

?? Weekly Test #12: An important checkpoint on this learning adventure, this test allowed me to gauge my understanding across a wide array of topics – from tech literacy to key career skills. Tests like these help us track our progress and refine our learning strategies.

?? Milestone #12: This milestone held significant pieces – a reflection on my past two months of Daily 3 practice and a personalized plan for Month 3. Additionally, I reflected on my Week 12 Peer Coaching Session, assessed my updated Skills Map, analysed and contemplated my chosen track, AWS Cloud Computing, and explored how individuals can make a positive difference in that field.

?

?? So, as I continue my journey into the last month of ALX Foundations, I invite you to join me! Share your thoughts, questions, and insights in the comments below. Let's learn and grow together. What's your vision in the tech world? What challenges are you encountering on your learning journey? Let's make this final month memorable, full of shared wisdom and inspiration.

???? ?? Hurray!!!
