The tech industry is the new goldmine.?Actually,?it has been for a while now. This sentiment resonates deeply with me. Many years ago, as a fresh graduate from the University, I found myself entrenched in the traditional 9-to-5 grind. While I struggled with early mornings and late nights, I had an acquaintance who seemed to defy this routine. Even though he hardly left home, he seemed to be doing pretty well.?
How did I know? He had the latest gadgets; iPhones, iPads, Macbooks – a veritable showcase of Apple's finest products. He also owned an?iPhone?shop. But the ultimate status symbol was his sleek and rugged power bike that stood majestically in his car park along with his luxury car.??
Curiosity got the better of me, so I approached him, eager to understand what he did for a living. His answer was both simple and profound: "I'm a techie." I was expecting a more complicated answer, so I probed further. I eventually found out that he was a Web and App developer. This single skillset not only yielded huge financial rewards but also facilitated a location-independent work style, allowing him to serve clients globally from the comfort of his home.
I was wowed! That conversation sparked my curiosity about Tech roles and the rest they say is history!?
The tech sector continues to be a job market powerhouse. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts significant growth in computer and information technology occupations through 2022 to 2032, outpacing the average job market.?About 377,500 openings are projected each year in ?tech roles?due to employment growth and the need to replace workers who have reached retirement age. As of May 2023, the median annual wage for tech roles was about $104,420 which is significantly higher than the median annual wage for most occupations $48,060.
While recent headlines may mention tech layoffs, these are often tied to broader economic trends, not a decline in the tech industry itself. The demand for skilled tech professionals remains high. Some of the hottest jobs right now include?software development,?Cybersecurity, AWS,?Data Analysis, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Business Analysis, Project Management, and Digital Marketing amongst others.??
So, if you're looking to make the jump into tech , here's the good news: opportunities abound! However, the easiest way to get onboarded is by taking a certification program.??
High-end certification programs cost a lot so here's an extremely affordable platform I found that offers high-end tech courses at an extremely affordable rate. This is your opportunity to get onboarded into tech and kickstart your dream career.?
