Tech Electronics Monthly: Building Safety Month!
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

For the first edition of our new LinkedIn newsletter, we're here to talk about one of the topics that is nearest and dearest to our hearts here at Tech: building safety. May is the International Code Council’s official “Building Safety Month,” and as a long-time fire and life safety solutions provider and partner to the construction industry, we’re happy to be observing this tradition! As the month comes to a close, we’re happy to be taking a look at some of the building safety-related content we’ve shared lately, as well as some technologies we’re proud to sell, service and support. For instance...
At some point, we've all experienced frustrations with the code-required fire alarm inspections process, which can often be time-consuming and disruptive. If you've ever found yourself wishing it could be more straightforward for everyone involved, we've got some great news! Self-testing detectors are part of a wave of exciting developments that are revolutionizing the fire alarm industry, and they're here to stay. Video Spotlight: How Tech Works Alongside AHJs
As a long-time fire and life safety systems provider, one thing we take pride in is working seamlessly alongside Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Here's a short video about how Tech helps make the building safety industry work!
At Tech, one thing that makes us exceedingly proud is helping to make a positive impact on the building safety experts of the future. And that's exactly what we do during Low Voltage Week at Washburn Institute of Technology! Washburn is located in Topeka, KS, one of our service territories, and has an Electrical Technology program covering the concepts and skills necessary to be a technician in a range of industries. However, one area it doesn't cover is Fire Alarm and other low voltage systems, and that's where we come in.
Susan Gehring , our Director of Fire Technologies, is on the advisory board at Washburn, and leads a week-long course covering these topics for the students at Washburn. This allows them an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience learning from industry experts like Susan, as well as Senior Project Manager Darin Wassinger. For more on how Tech is helping to educate the next generation of technicians, check out our story!
Before you go...
That's all for this month, but be sure to let us know in the comments below what you think of this newsletter format, as well as what other types of content you'd like to see from us here in the coming months!
And this is where we leave you, until next month...
