BRAZIL BLOCKS X

Brazil's Supreme Court has banned the social network X, imposing hefty fines of $9,000 for its use. Apple and Google must remove the app from their stores in the country. The ban will only be lifted once Musk agrees to Brazil’s demands, which include paying fines and appointing an official representative. It seems Musk will have to find a compromise to get his platform back on the Brazilian market.

INTEL VS. AMD: THE WAR IS OVER?

The long-standing competition between Intel and AMD might finally be coming to an end, in favor of AMD. Intel’s shares have dropped by 60%, and the company has announced layoffs of 20,000 employees along with a merger with Qualcomm. Intel’s shares are now worth the same as they were 27 years ago. This is a crucial reminder of how dynamic the tech market can be.

The Apple Event 2024 showcased several new products, including the thinnest Apple Watch X, updated AirPods 4, and iPhone 16. Key highlights from the event include:

  • Apple Watch X: A thinner design with a 30% larger screen, fast charging, though battery life remains limited. It now features music playback directly from the speaker.
  • AirPods 4: Available in two versions (with and without active noise cancellation), wireless charging support, and new features like hearing aid functionality.
  • iPhone 16: Equipped with the new A18 chip, a tactile camera button for quick access, and improved camera capabilities. The Pro model comes with extra features such as Cinematic Mode with slow-motion.

Overall, the event didn't deliver major surprises, but the new colors, functional buttons, and innovations in the AirPods line stood out as notable improvements.

HUAWEI VS. APPLE

While everyone is buzzing about Apple's latest announcements, Huawei took the stage with a foldable phone that folds three times. Although they’re not the first to achieve this, the price of $2,800—equivalent to three iPhones—raises questions about its value.
