Teamwork and communications on the go at SharePoint Conference in May!

Our world became mobile in so little time that I am always fascinated to consider where we are and from where we come.
I still remember in 2015 when The Economist defined The smartphone as "the defining technology of the age" and as "the true personal computer". Already at that time smartphone deployment has reached an "unstoppable" level as demonstrated on this schema.
And obviously we far more engaged in this direction than we were 4 years ago!
But do you really realize the whole potential of your smartphone?
So in my session at SharePoint Conference 2019, you can expect first tips and tricks for personal productivity on old and new mobile usages with Office 365 and its great toolset.
For example, are you easy at creating a meeting on the go with Outlook mobile app? we will practice!
We will also cover Teamwork and Communication. In that area, Microsoft did an awesome work providing us a full set of mobile apps covering almost all aspects of Office 365.
We will discuss scenarios like using OneDrive to collect pictures on a project or editing Excel spreadsheets.
I will cover the traditional services which got their mobile apps like SharePoint or Teams. Story there is reproducing a core set of features, adding a few more targeting more or less mobiles. This type of apps is targeting Information Workers on the go, when they go to work or to customers willing to polish the latest PowerPoint deck or book a meeting with a calling customer.
Communication apps and usages are essential. Being able to join everybody, everywhere on any device is part of the "standard" today life, smartphone enabled. So, communication apps are a key part of the mobile offering.
I especially love how the news can be send to the whole group of followers connected via SharePoint mobile app to the same Intranet site.
But this is not your father's Microsoft ! Now Microsoft creates and proposes fully mobile features set like Shift for Teams or even a whole new mobile app targeting first line workers with no access to traditional PC like Kaizala.
Kaizala proposes a rich set of groups to map digital organisation to real worl one. For exemple in Kaizala you can create flat, hierarchical, hub and spoke groups.
Hierarchical groups are ideal for organizations mapping groups to departments, slaes units or subsidiaries.
Hub and spoke groups are ideal for Government organizations engaging with citizens or businesses engaging with their customers.
So I will present pros and cons of these options.
Kaizala was first introduced only to a subset of emerging markets but it's a great success already. For example in India, it already powers 1,000 organizations in just over a year!
See you at SharePoint NA in May at MGM Grand, Las Vegas!
So, I am super excited to see you at Las Vegas to discuss and exchange especially about everything mobile with Office 365. I have attended several SharePoint conferences in the past and I still remember most of them. I remember especially the first Las Vegas edition in 2009 exactly ten years ago! It was marked by the major SharePoint 2010 announcement, which would place SharePoint at the center of a connected intranet.
This year, for the second time in a raw, SharePoint Conference is coming back to Vegas for a legendary event. Meet more than 150+ speakers chosen among the best at Microsoft and the Community. They will animate more than 200+ sessions, 20+ workshops.
Co-produced by Microsoft and SharePoint Conference, the SharePoint Conference’s primary focus is to present the most cutting edge, knowledge and training available. Our presenters are the most acclaimed thought leaders, critically engaged MVPs and decision makers at Microsoft that oversee the future of Office 365, SharePoint and One Drive.
This big picture wouldn't be complete without mentioning 100+ exhibitors and sponsors that provide third party solutions and create a rich a powerful ecosystem.
As a community leader (please see here an aOS Community presentation) and events organizer, I know it can be hard to promote more one session than the other, but I especially enjoy and would recommend some sessions with very good women speakers like :
- Determining when to use SharePoint hub sites by Sarah Haase
- Amplify your digital creativity with modern SharePoint Sites by Tracy van der Schyff
- Achieve your knowledge management goals with Office 365 by Susan Hanley
and also 2 sessions coming directly from Redmond
- Taking your SharePoint to the next level - transforming existing sites to the modern experiences by Mark Kashman
- Drive Employee engament with Yammer, SharePoint and Stream by Dan Holme.
However ALL sessions, absolutly all will deserve a great audience!
