Teams Status Icon

The Teams status indicator is NOT big brother watching you.?Teams is a tool that allows individuals to keep in constant contact with co-workers who are not physically located in the same space.?More and more companies have remote employees and Teams is an excellent tool that allows co-workers to instantly know if a fellow employee is available for a quick collaboration.?Before you discount using Teams, consider that from the moment you log on to your company issued computer and/or the company network, your company has the ability to run a fast and extremely informative report which will outline when you logged on, what you were doing during that time which includes which applications where active and for what period of time they were active.?The company IT Department is big brother, not Teams.

The Teams status indicator is simply an icon that allows employees to quickly know if you are available.?Think about it.?If you send an email to an employee and that employee did not have their out of office turned on and you are waiting on a response you have no idea it could be a week before they get back into the office.?If you call a fellow employee and you get their voice mail, again you have no idea are if they in the break room, in a meeting, or out of the office for a period of time.
