Teams Rooms EMEA Monthly | April 2024 Issue

As we enter April, we are in the home stretch of Microsoft’s fiscal year, and what a journey it has been so far. Microsoft Teams Rooms is booming and getting stronger by the minute!

Top of Mind

At the end of March was #EnterpriseConnect, a key moment on the UC calendar. I'm not going to list everything announced, for that you can see here and here . I want to call out a few of the announcements:

Speaker Recognition on existing devices was announced at Ignite as coming to existing #MicrosoftTeamsRooms on Windows devices which is huge on its own. Last week that announcement was extended to Teams Rooms on Android and BYOD devices.

This expansion of speaker recognition and transcript attribution via intelligent speakers and existing speakers will continue to grow, extending to BYOD spaces and Teams Rooms on Android later this year.

Low-friction Teams Rooms deployment and management #Autopilot for Teams Rooms on Windows is a huge leap forward. You can learn more here https://aka.ms/teamsautopilot

Lastly, MDEP and BYOD were two big announcements from the past year that we were holding for more information on. We got it! Check out the blog for the full detail. MDEP is looking to be a great solution for those customers not willing to deploy Android devices but would like the ease of deployment and management of Android. BYOD is looking like it's a fantastic solution for those customers currently using USB only meeting room solutions, offering an improved experience in #MicrosoftTeams.

What's New in Microsoft Teams

March was a big month for #MicrosoftTeams updates but only a handful of new certifications. You can read all about them in the latest What's New in Microsoft Teams blog. We don't normally go deep on Microsoft Teams updates, but the Calls app in the Teams client will soon deliver an intelligent recap experience for calls. This is a game changer!

On top of the updates, there were also new certifications that landed.

• The Cisco Roomkit EQX and Navigator was launched at Enterprise Connect and announced as certified for Microsoft Teams - Enjoy the ultimate video meeting experience with an integrated room device featuring advanced meeting room AI, camera intelligence, directional sound, and rich content sharing.

• The Cisco Board Pro G2 was announced at Enterprise Connect in both a 55 and 75 inch variant. Both of these models were also announced as certified for Microsoft Teams. The Board Pro G2 is everything you love in the current Board Pro line, but with a considerable hardware upgrade, internals, cameras, audio - everything!

• The new DTEN Small Room Solution including the DTEN Bar and DTEN Mate . Benefits of the new DTEN Small Room Solution Kit include advanced AI-powered audiovisual capabilities, unparalleled deployment simplicity, and adaptability to diverse room configurations.
