Teams Needed To Compete in The Ultimate Cycling Challenge...
Brand new for 2020 and as a direct result of the implications COVID-19 has had on our fundraising events and activities, we have partnered with Ultimate Packaging to create the Ultimate Challenge where we are inviting teams from across the region to compete for The St. Andrew's Challenge Trophy. Read on for more details on how to take part...
It doesn't matter if you're a company, a pub, sports club, school or just a group of friends - whether you're used to cycling up mountains or riding to the pub, we want as many teams to register and take part as possible, but there can only be one winning team.
How Does It Work?
The Ultimate Challenge is a cycling based event but it isn't a race. It isn't about who can ride the furthest or the fastest either - its about a collective effort to find the team that can ride the highest average mileage over the course of the month of October...
It isn't that simple though - the real challenge is to help to raise as much money as possible for St. Andrew's & Andy's Children's Hospices. Each team must also pledge to fund raise a minimum average amount per participant (we suggest at least £30 per team member) and at the end of the challenge if that average pledge hasn't been made, mileage penalties will be incurred. All teams that take part and raise on average £25 or more per team member will receive medals and a certificate for each team member.
The whole campaign as well as the individual challenge for Cycle September is being run using the Just Giving platform. all we need you to do is create a team page taking part in the Ultimate Challenge event and add team members to your team. They then set up their own fundraising pages as part of your team, link their Strava account to their Just Giving page and you're all set to start recording the mileage - but don't forget to share with your friends, family, colleagues and associates as the fundraising is just as much a part of the challenge as the cycling itself!!
Of course we want you to share as much of your activities as possible and help us to raise as much money as possible so please do remember to upload photos etc and keep your team page up to date.
How To Register Your Team.
For more details on setting up your Just Giving team please contact me for more information. It's quite easy to do, but those unfamiliar with Just Giving may need a little more assistance - We're Here To Help...
Remember - you don't need to be professional cyclists to take part, you just need to ride regularly. All miles count and it isn't the most miles that will win, it will be the highest team average...
Without your help and support, St. Andrew's simply couldn't provide the services and care we do for people of all ages and the families living with progressive, life-limiting illnesses in North Lincolnshire and surrounding areas. We really do appreciate all the support we receive whether through donations to our retail shops which have only just started to re-open or through taking part in our own organised events, or hosting your own fund raising events, volunteering or engaging with our other virtual or online activities to help spread the word.
Thank You for your continued support...
