Hurricane Debby made landfall near Steinhatchee, Florida in the Florida Big Bend area as a Category 1 hurricane around 7 a.m. Monday with sustained winds of 80 mph, at the time of landfall. Landfall came less than 12 hours after Debby strengthened from a tropical storm into a hurricane.

Debby emphasizes once more the necessity for businesses in South Florida to establish preparedness plans to brace for potential hurricanes that could significantly interrupt operations.
