Teambuilding Retreats

Are you looking to bring your team together? Do you need a retreat to help your group to team build after years of remote and now hybrid work where people have not been together for a long time?

MTI has been working with many teams across the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) over the last few months to facilitate their teambuilding retreats. In each of these 8-10 sessions the team leaders were looking to bring the group together for the following purposes:

  • Build the team - have time for the teams to come together in person, share information such as answers to different ice breaker questions and/or do an assessment to learn more about themselves as well as how to work better with each other.
  • Share some information - by having the whole team there (mostly in person with some perhaps online for a hybrid meeting) the leaders were able to disseminate or share information with the team all in one place. This information could be the current vision, mission, values statement, strategic goals, current operations, and/or roles and responsibilities. By sharing this information the whole team could come together on what the current state of the organization is and where it is going.
  • Work together to create or work through something new - this is where the meetings often varied, but this could include things like working on strategic priorities, action plans for how to implement those priorities, aligning around the work tied to each strategic goal, or practicing skills to make the team work better together, etc. With dedicated time to work together as a group the organization was able to align to the objectives and implement the stated goals of the meeting.

With a dedicated MTI facilitator the teams were able to design, conduct, and evaluate the team retreat after the session to ensure it met and/or exceeded the goals of the organization.
