teamazing launches its own co-op video game and invests millions

We have been working towards this moment for three years - now it is finally official: we are proud to announce our investment and the launch of Monax Island. We are excited about reading all the regional press reports (German), such as from Kleine Zeitung, Brutkasten and Trending Topic. Here also the official press release of the Austria Press Agency.

Here is a summary in English:

We, the powerhouse for team building solutions launch MONAX ISLAND, the world's first video game that bonds colleagues like friends. This playful solution addresses the problem of team cohesion in the digital world of work. We raised almost one million euros from investors Steirische Wirtschaftsf?rderung SFG , ZEN 11 Holding GmbH and Situlus Holding .

Monax Island as problem solver

The megatrends of globalization, digitization and new work continue to push remote work. This has a lasting impact on the world of work, even after the pandemic. Keeping employees together despite distance is a problem in many companies that we want to solve in a playful way with Monax Island. "The idea is that teams play games together on a regular basis. The cooperative game provides a lot of fun in the first place. It also lowers the barriers of informal communication thanks to a self-developed video call function, strengthens relationships and bonds the team together," says our co-founder Paul Stanzenberger , who was himself an e-sports player. "Those who solve their remote work problems can expand recruiting efforts beyond their region, reducing the shortage of skilled workers," he continues.

Made for non-gamers, teams and fun

The browser-based game can be started within seconds and takes 3 to 6 players to a pictorial island with bizarre marmots. Everyone controls a character using the arrow keys on the keyboard and faces challenges that can only be solved as a team. Monax Island offers a colorful mix of different genres, such as jump and run, strategy, collecting and crafting and open world. "So that there is something for everyone. The game was in fact developed specifically for non-gamers and includes the know-how from 9 years of team building experience," explains Paul Stanzenberger.

We have already enthused around 150,000 people and serve more than 3,000 customers, including global giants such as SAP, Microsoft, IBM and Facebook. Well-known names such as Google, TikTok and AVL already book our supervised online team building on a regular basis, "they are also showing great interest in Monax Island.", says Stanzenberger.

What happens next

We have been working towards this moment for the last three years and are incredibly happy that our customers are excited about the launch. In the future, we also want to integrate AI-based team analytics into our video games, which gives players a deeper understanding of their behavior, strengths and potentials and, which goes beyond what humans can perceive.

How we came up with the idea

The inspiration for Monax Island came with the increasing demand from our customers for non-supervised online team building. As remote work has grown, we've identified an exciting niche for us, and one that we feel incredibly comfortable in. Monax Island is completely different from our previous services. Through software-based team building, teams can have fun together on a regular basis at a low cost, regardless of their geographic location, and bond as a result. It's a big step for us, but we believe Monax Island has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about team building.
