Who hasn't heard these lines in life?
"United we stand, Divided we fall" or "Find your tribe"
I experienced it vividly yesterday.
So the story goes like this...
I hosted the first Webinar by Srinivas Yetchina along with Nimmani Santhosh on 15th November 2020.
We rehearsed thoroughly one day before the webinar.
Yes! That's right.
On Diwali eve, we were doing the masterminding session regarding this webinar.
What a fulfilling way to spend the auspicious festival of Diwali.
Everything was discussed. The flow of the presentation. Hosting roles. Feedback forms. Every minute detail.
But we forgot one thing! Technological Glitch!
What if the Internet stops at the last minute?
Living in the world of high-speed internet we often forget that nothing is permanent.
We got the lesson for our life on the finale day.
Just a few minutes before the webinar, internet connection of the main speaker Srinivas Ji got down.
He tried everything he could but all in vain.
And in this hustle, it was the time for the webinar.
The clock showed 8 p.m. My Google assistant announced, " It's 8 p.m. Srinivas NLP Webinar"
There were 15 people in the waiting room.
We had only two choices.
Start the webinar or cancel the event.
Without the certainty of Srinivas getting online. I and my co-host Santhosh took a leap of faith and started the webinar.
What an adrenaline rush I must say!
We didn't know anything.
Where is the main speaker...? No connection at all for few mins...
How long do we have to keep the audience engaged?
Will they stay? Who has the patience these days anyways? That too on the next day of Diwali festival...?
I downloaded a NLP slideshow from Google for the safe side. I thought I will take the session on Srinivas ji's behalf. LOL
Santhosh played a song and engaged the audience in practising visualisation.
The song was "Kar har maidan Fateh" [Translation: Win every battle field]
My maa Madhu Vyas shared her experience with NLP and Srinivas ji's method of working.
It was hilarious. I was laughing and panicking at the same time.
Meanwhile, Srinivas Ji drove 5 km away to a friend's house to access broadband internet connection.
But the Universe was still in the mood to test his Commitment.
The internet connection at friend's house was also not working. But our Defence-trained Srinivas Ji asked his friend to lend his mobile data.
And finally got online after 27 mins. Hurray!
But, the nightmare did not end here!
Srinivas sir did not have control of the presentation. It was with Santhosh.
He was changing slides (full of animations, which only show when u press the next button ;))
Still not over... Stay with me!
Santhosh had to leave at 9 pm for another meeting...
It was predecided. Remember? We discussed everything beforehand.
So he transferred the control of the zoom meeting to me.
Now it was my duty to change the slides.
But, it was new to me. I was not able to find the buttons to change the slides on a zoom meeting.
So we practised for 2-3 slides while the presentation was still going on! LOL
Uff! Still feeling that adrenaline rush!
Mobile chatting was continuously on....
Maza aa Gaya...
In spite of all these hurdles. Srinivas sir delivered a wonderful Session. He engaged with the audience with a genuine and authentic approach.
We all were vulnerable and transparent with the audience. Thankfully all 31 participants stayed till the end and gave Positive feedback and engaged enthusiastically.
I am grateful to Dev Gadhvi l Amol Salunkhe l Anju Choudhary l Sugeeta Madan l Somdutta Sarkar. I'm grateful to be part of such a beautiful Passionpreneur family. Thanks a lot for bringing us together. It's a bliss to be with our tribe.. Tribe of Like-minded people...
I often hear people complaining and commenting that team building is only possible for big-shot companies.
It is not possible for start-ups or solopreneurs like us.
This experience is a great example for all those.
"Money does not make a great team. The love and mutual respect within the hearts of the like-minded people are the main ingredients. "
-Swati Vyas
"??? ????? ?? ??? ?? ?????-?-?????? ???
??? ??? ??? ?? ?? ?????? ???? ??? "
-????? ???????????
Also, special thanks to the lovely audience. They were understanding, empathetic and engaging. These are essential qualities to be a seeker.
I would say, If were are joining any virtual event, then it's evident that we are seeking something from it. Mostly, some knowledge or skill.
Best quality of a seeker is to be observant with patience. I'm sure our audience not only learnt Neuro-Linguistic Programming basics but also witnessed the miracles of teamwork!
Thank you, everyone!
Word of Caution: Have 2 internet connections at your disposal if you are into virtual meetings... Consider it as an investment! LOL :)

4 年Swati Vyas, M.Sc., Ph.D.; thanks for sharing your experience with us. I was immediately taken into the many challenges the team had to address. This could only happen in a team with the "Our World" mindset as opposed to teams with a "Me world" mindset where projects are driven by personal egos and people easily give up on each other. I celebrate your perseverance and the commitment of Dev Gadhvi - No.1 Passionpreneur Mentor; Amol Salunkhe; Anju Choudhary; Sugeeta Madan - Curate An Extraordinary Life; Somdutta Sarkar and your live audience. Well done to Swati Vyas, M.Sc., Ph.D. and appreciate when you said "I was laughing and panicking at the same time." but it was worth it. 4 年Very true and practical experience Swati. I have also faced such situation while presentation specially online. Our team should be our strength. It doesn’t mean if you have team you will not face challenges but with good team and team bonding how smoothly you all make your webinar successful even if devilish attacks were there. It”s a big learning that team building is possible for startups and solopreneurs as well
