There is no TEAM without many "I"s
We all heard the phrase, "there is no "I" in TEAM." In this short post, I wish to destroy this phrase.
First, there is "AM" as in "I Am" in TEAMS.
Second, if you don't believe me, you probably would believe the GOAT, M. Jordan, who said that there is "I" in WIN.
Or, as Kobe said: "but there's an M and an E in that motherf*cker."
Let's start by exploring what a TEAM is?
TEAM is a group of people with a mutual goal that work together to achieve that goal.
If you look at a TEAM as a gearbox, it is evident that each gear (team member) affects the structure and the integrity of the entire unit. A failure of one of the gears, even to one of the gear's teeth, will stop the whole operation.
Working in a team doesn't mean that individuals should suppress their individualities. On the contrary, team members should bring their character and, via harmony and synergy, improve their unit/team.
As team leaders, we must promote individuality within the team. We must ensure that each person (gear) brings her/his best version, solid performance, skills, knowledge, and mutual support, so the entire team will work as one unit and achieve the desired goal.
I hope that we all agree that, There is no TEAM without many I's
