To showcase our SHOPLAZZA family members, we spotlight the most enigmatic members of our team from time to time. Today’s unique snowflake is Zinc Li, Senior Web Engineer for our proprietary SaaS platform.

Why are you a Senior Web Engineer?

My journey began ten years ago. My position allows me to get feedback from customers right away. That’s one of the greatest feelings for someone like me because it brings a genuine sense of accomplishment when the feedback is positive. I personally enjoy bringing the artistic vision of designers to life by translating their ideas into code,

Can you describe your position without using “algorithm,” “code,” “web engineer”?

I help developers create high-efficiency and high-quality products. I help build and design systems that make our platform powerful, translating into more sales. ,

Can you describe a challenge you faced at work and how you overcame it?

We didn’t have a product recommendation algorithm at one point. I spent two days looking through thousands of lines of source code to understand the space we were working in and helped lay the foundation for what we have now.

Where do you get your inspiration?

My failures. I get inspired by failure more than success. I look outside of the positive feedback and the data to pick up on things that I’d otherwise miss.

Can you name three things you can’t live without?

Family, weightlifting, and video games. Everything I do, I do for family. I go to the gym because it keeps me alive. And I love the WoW and 2K.
