Meet Wes Powers, Foreman, Washington
Mr. Powers, a Foreman at Snyder since 2009, describes his workday as unpredictable, involving tasks like fixing leaks or performing maintenance. Wes serves as the vice president at Tacoma Local Roofers Union 153, and his favorite project, the University of Husky Stadium, holds sentimental value since he worked on it as an apprentice.
Can you share briefly what a typical workday looks like for you?
I don’t have a typical workday which is probably the best part of my day. I could be running leaks or off to a job for maintenance. My days are never the same.
How long have you worked at Snyder?
I have been with Snyder since 2009. I took a year off and then returned.
What is one thing folk at Snyder might find surprising to learn about you?
I am the vice president at Tacoma Local Roofers Union 153.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on? Why?
University of Husky Stadium, at the time I was still an apprentice, and it was my first time working a job of that caliber.
What do you enjoy doing on your days off?
I enjoy watching my kids play sports and going hiking.
What is one of your proudest accomplishments at the company?
My proudest accomplishment at Snyder would be the job I have done for Seattle Children's Hospital.
What do you think sets Snyder apart from other commercial roofing companies in the Pacific Northwest?
The involvement and understanding between office staff and field workers.
What advice would you give to someone new to Snyder?
?Pay attention to detail. Be attentive and willing to learn.
