Team Softwerx Spotlight – Autumn Edition
This Summer and Autumn has been a cracking time for the Softwerx Team, from fundraising to award nominations, from expanding the team to staff 'sizzler' BBQ socials.
Chosen Charity Fundraising Success
On Sunday 16th July 2023, a Softwerx crew participated in the Kidney Research UK’s London Bridges 2023 fundraising walk. Four Softwerx staff walked the seven miles along some of the most celebrated landmarks in London including London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Millenium Bridge. In August this walk was followed up with a successful bake sale at the Copley Hill Business Park raising hundreds of pounds. In September Softwerx parent company Clearsprings matched the money raised by the walk, bringing the combined total to over £1000. Congrats to the team involved and our thanks go to the Bridges Walk event organisers for putting on such a wonderful event.

Security Team Spotlight
Softwerx has expanded its team again. We’d like to welcome our new Sales Manager, Clare Jacobs, onto the team. Clare has been working in tech for over 12 years with part of that time spent in Ireland, where she was working at IBM Dublin, and in South Africa.
When asked what drew her to cybersecurity, Clare had this to say: “Every day is something new, presenting fresh challenges and opportunities to bring to clients. It is a sought-after industry and I like the ‘risk/danger/threat’ aspect of it in the sense that we get to protect people from it.”
Summer Sizzler Social
In September, Softwerx had a BBQ get-together for its staff with their families and partners also invited. The event took place in the bright sunshine at the Plough, Fen Ditton alongside the picturesque bank of the river Cam. The social was a great way for the team to relax in-person, celebrate, and welcome new staffers.
In-Person Round Table at Microsoft
Softwerx recently co-hosted its Microsoft Elevate Security event at Microsoft's Paddington office on the 20th of September. The event focused on the hot topics of Microsoft Security and Microsoft 365 Copilot. During the event, Microsoft’s Territory Manager for Modern Work and Security, Chris Williams, and Softwerx’s CISO, Adriaan Bekker, shared their insights on the current state of technology and its future direction. Clare Jacobs, our Sales Manager and Phoebe Ward, Events Coordinator were also there. One attendee commented, “I came away with some great insights into where AI is going.”
