At some point or the other, we all have thought to ourselves what exactly does it take to build a great team. Such an important question that grabs our attention but is quite difficult to be answered. There have been suggestions as to bring together the greatest experienced and skilled individuals together but this might not always work. But this might not always work as big personalities and egos may clash.?

Teamwork is important and to bring success to the work below are Belbin’s Team Roles which mark efficiency and organizational success. Father of team roles, Dr. Meredith Belbin believed that for the successful creation of an effective team, nine roles must be followed.??

1)??? Resource Investigator: Usually outgoing and enthusiastic persona with an inquisitive nature who shares new ideas and feedback in their team.

2)??? Teamwork: A cooperative and highly versatile team player who understands the work that needs to be done on behalf of their team.

3)??? Coordinator: A coordinator delegates team’s objective and engage with team members. They are usually confident and apt at clarifying goals and identifying talented people.

4)??? Plant: Highly creative and outside the box thinkers. Adaptive at solving problems are imaginative and highly creative.

5)??? Monitor Evaluator: A logical player who is able to weigh up the team’s options in an unbiased way. They are highly strategic and logically analyze all the problems.

6)??? Specialist, Shaper: A dedicated expert in a key area, who brings on their specialist skills or knowledge to the best use.

7)??? Implementer: An organized, reliable, and efficient person who carries their tasks as efficiently as possible.

8)??? Complete Finisher: Ensures quality check and work is carried out in the most effective way that meets their objectives before final completion.

These roles defined by Belbin can be used to bolster employee engagement. Following Belbin’s team model, team leaders can place employees in alignment with their strengths and higher productivity as a result.
