Team Norstar Asia - 2017 SCI Mountain Challenge - Raising money for the Seamans Church Institute

As some of you know I have decided to participate in the SCI Mountain Challenge 28th Sept-1st Oct 2017 in the mountains of Maine, USA. It’s a 2 day mountain race to raise funds for the Seaman's Church Institute, These funds will directly benefit mariners regardless of nationality or faith worldwide. Since 1834, the Seamen’s Church Institute has been serving the maritime workforce in many different ways—with chaplaincy and hospitality services, legal advocacy, and advanced maritime education and training. Any donation, personal or corporate, for this most worthy cause will be greatly appreciated.

Our team, Team Norstar Asia, consists of Tom Bonehill (Norstar Singapore), Chris Charter (Norstar Westport, CT) and Ken Hasui (Norstar Japan). In addition to the on-mountain challenge where we will be summiting nine peaks, hiking over 20 miles through the mountains of western Maine (Varsity Course) and paddling 11 miles down the Androscoggin River,(We hope we all survive) we have also been challenged to raise over $3,000 in support of the Seamen's Church Institute and its valuable programs for mariners from around the world. We want to set the bar higher at Usd 10,000 ! Every dollar raised counts! Overall team standings and awards are calculated on both course performance and money raised.
