Meet Casey: A Developer's Journey with Lean Technologies

Hi, I’m Casey! I’ve been part of the Lean Technologies family since 2018.

What is your role at Lean Tech, and what does a typical day look like for you?

I’m a full-stack software developer at Lean Tech. But here’s the thing—there’s no such thing as a “typical day” here! Sure, sitting down to solve problems is a big part of what I do, but it’s so much more than that. The nature of our work means collaborating with talented individuals from companies all around the world. While the challenges may share similarities, the solutions always vary based on context. That keeps our work exciting and dynamic—there’s always something new to tackle.

What aspects of Lean Tech’s culture do you find most rewarding or unique?

It may sound cliché, but working at Lean Tech truly feels like working with friends. I look forward to coming to work every day because I genuinely enjoy the people I get to collaborate with.

What is a project you’ve worked on that you’re proud of?

One project that stands out is the Launchpad feature in Thrive. If you’ve ever logged into Thrive and noticed the app shortcuts on your home screen, that’s something I contributed to! I loved working on both the technical and design aspects of that project, and it’s rewarding to see how widely it’s used.

What do you love about Thrive?

I love how flexible Thrive is. It’s a platform designed to tackle virtually any digital process, and it just keeps getting better.

If you could trade jobs with someone for a day (and be proficient at it), what would you try?

Honestly? I wouldn’t trade jobs. I’d be perfectly happy spending a day at a café with my headphones on, hammering away at my keyboard. I genuinely enjoy what I do!

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to step away from technology to decompress. Photography has been a passion of mine for over 15 years, and I’ve been shooting analog photos for the last eight. There’s something magical about using a vintage camera from the 1950s, heading out into nature, and waiting weeks to find out if the pictures turned out.

Any interesting facts about you that might surprise people?

I lived in Cambodia for a few years and have traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia. Those experiences have shaped me in ways I’ll never forget.

Graphic to use for Casey to make into the template that you have used in the past for our employee spotlight. Maybe capture more than just closeup of his face, but some of the monitor/desk as well so you can see that he is working in this photo.
