This month we're speaking to our new Head of Sales, Sam...

What attracted you to work with Ickle Bubba?

I loved working in the Nursery Industry in a previous role and, so, the opportunity to come and work back in this environment with a brand that has ambitions to grow its distribution internationally is extremely exciting. I was aware of the product range and the success that the team have had previously, so it was a no brainer!

Where was your previous role and what did it entail?

My previous role was working for Belgian brand, Trixie Baby. I was responsible for launching the brand into the UK and with their range of wooden toys, bags and bottles and soft toys. Upon departure we had onboarded with 3 major national retailers in the UK alongside some key independent stores too.

What is the main thing you’re looking forward to in your new role?

As pathetic as it is, there is a draw for me to the nursery world. I’m looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and friends from across the industry on both sides of the wholesale / retailer fence. I was on my own in the UK in my previous role, so I’m really looking forward to meeting all the team and spending some time annoying everyone in the office when I can!

Tell us a bit about yourself...

I’m 33, I have 2 children, Louis aged 6 and Isla aged 3. My biggest passion is probably football and I’m a big United fan, although I won’t shout too loudly about that just yet. Maybe we can re-publish this profile after the FA Cup Final or when City inevitably win the treble!

I live just outside Birmingham in spitting distance to the village pub and you can often find me and the dog in there, in our reserved seats, putting the world to rights with anyone and everyone!?

What is your biggest ambition?

I’m getting married next year. I have 2 amazing children so, for me, it’s about doing as much as I can to ensure we all have as much fun as is humanely possible in this life!

I’m also tempted by a marathon but I think I’ll get bored!
