Team Culture @ Leicester Tigers
I was recently invited to meet with the Corporate Sales, Events and Partnerships team at Leicester Tigers and to talk with them about my perception of what makes high performance teams tick.
Firstly, what a great team - youthful, dynamic, inquisitive and engaged, and I was really stuck by the complete lack of bullshit.
They were respectful, supportive and tight as a group and they weren't afraid to challenge each other or to call out previous examples of unacceptable behaviours.
We talked about the traits of great teams and the people who make up those teams, and it was clear to see that this group understands what's required.
If you're not sure about how to figure it out, ask yourself a few simple questions:
Which was the best team that you were ever involved with?
Which was the worst team that you were ever involved with?

What behaviours did the people in the best team exhibit?
What behaviours did the people in the worst team exhibit?
Then it's as simple as drawing up two lists - best team behaviours and worst team behaviours - and deciding which you want to be.
Figuring this stuff our isn't complex and it doesn't take a huge amount of time.
But it does take some time - uninterrupted, dedicated time to actually step back from the day to day grind to think.
Do you want to be a great, high performing team or one that just gets on with whatever is put in front of it and plods on to the next day until the release of the weekend?
Huge thanks to @danielaforsyth for the invite, @markdavies for hosting and @tomwarner, @chrismacauley, @katiehurley and the rest of the gang for having me.
