Team Building 101

If you work in a collaborative environment, there is nothing quite as stimulating as seeing a co-worker promoted to a job opening from within. It is the ultimate expression of confidence by a management team. It says “we trained this person and feel they are competent and deserving of upward mobility.” That sends a clear and powerful message to the rest of the team: we value you.

We recently experienced such a promotion at our place of work. The COO called for a quick face-to-face company-wide gathering to make the announcement. Instead of sending out an email announcement, everyone shared in the joy of the person being promoted. That’s Team-Building 101 and win-win for all involved.
