Teachers create profound transformations in their students, but how?
Dear Teachers
I know that you are looking for ways to support your students, especially the troubled ones. I want to help, but telling and showing are not enough. You have to process the strategies you see and hear, in your own way, and in your own time.
I could tell you. It’s easy for me to say, “Do this” or “Do that”, but I am not in your classroom with your students every day, am I? How could I possibly know what to tell you to do?
I could show you. I know that I can walk into your classroom and capture the attention of the students, elegantly. But that does not help you much. It’s just me showing off.
Embedded in the stories you will see what to do and how to do it.
What I can do is write stories. And then I can invite you to read the stories and come to your own conclusions. I can show and tell you what to do; without showing or telling you what to do. I’m just telling a story. You, the reader, make of it what you will.
There are specific strategies, techniques and tools that you can use straight away, or later; or not. Timing is essential. You have to be ready. Oh, and in case you are wondering, your students are ready. They are waiting, and getting impatient. That’s why they are playing up. They are asking you to level up your skills and strategies for handling troubles that they cannot.
In the stories, you will see how, when the strategies are combined with a coaching mindset, they result in profound transformations. You will see things differently and so will your students. The atmosphere in the classroom will change and the smile will come back to your face.
I believe these strategies and mindset are within the reach of all teachers.
My stories are available in “The Educator’s Apprentice” on Amazon.
With love and respect
