What is “well-being? “The state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy”.
It is not a product or service, it is the state or philosophy that connects the individual to the environment with a purpose of being comfortable, healthy and happy.
During the pandemic between 2020 and 2022 the words “wellness” and “well-being” became popular tag lines for cookies and coffee meetings, subsidised gym memberships and time off to be on your own.?This is not the meaning of well-being.
As an owner of an allied health clinic and networked to many others, the role is now to pick up the broken pieces of poor well-being programs placed in schools and academic institutes that were provided in good faith but rarely in collaboration with industrial sectors that knew the outcomes specifically physical, social and emotional.
An app was never the right pathway to draw people to a state of well-being
It is evident that the 25% of employees who embraced a funded gym membership were the same 25% who were active fitness enthusiasts anyway. The problem was always in supporting the 100% and not ignoring the 75% who saw the gym as a threat.

Engaged connectivity is all about everyone being inclusive in a way they are comfortable, healthy and happy, plus a feeling of safety and belonging.
At My Inspiration Never Dies, we found that the language of well-being needed to be translated for everyone from leadership to the shopfloor in order to create a state of well-being within the workplace and to the customers and suppliers too. In a school context the language needs to be the same for the receptionist, administration staff, leadership teams, teachers, students and parents alike and that is only achieved through collaboration and communication.
The leaders of well-being in a school includes everyone, there is no single person responsible for the delivery. The only one responsible is the one who has the motivation to implement the decision to create a state of well-being and rest is organic.
Teachers are superheroes who define our children so let’s make them the corporate athletes by empowering them with power of choice and a life-work balance that re-ignites their essential enthusiasm.
