BACK FOR MORE!
Welcome back and a huge thank you to all of you who have subscribed to this newsletter, it helps to confirm my belief that although I have no idea what I am doing on LinkedIn yet - I am doing it right!
IMPOSTER SYNDROME WHO?
In my first month at Greenfield IT, I felt a huge sense of imposter syndrome. I mean recruitment is a huge change from teaching!
When people experience Impostor Syndrome, they often try to hide it. However, this can be difficult when speaking with a CEO of a tech company and trying to "talk shop" ... but I quickly learnt it doesn't have to be!
Just be honest, I have found that after telling people on the phone that I am not a technical expert and may need some explanation in what certain softwares/programmes are used for, 100% of people have taken the time to help me out along the way. After all it benefits them if we iron out the details so that I can find them their perfect role/candidate. Lets be honest, most of the programmes people use just sound like moderately powered Pokemon anyway!
MY FIRST PLACEMENT
Around five weeks into my recruitment journey I managed to place my first candidate! I was extremely proud and ecstatic to know that all of my hard work had not been in vain!
However, the best part about this story is that the person who I managed to place was undergoing a huge career change into Data Analytics from ..... being a Science Teacher! Why anyone would want to leave a career in teaching I will never understand....
ADVENTURE OUT OF THE OFFICE
Some of the guys from work and myself decided one weekend to tackle the local legend that is Rodney's Pilar.

I can't explain how great it is when you are the newbie at a company to get together with some of your new colleagues and to go outside of the office and do something other than work! A great time was had by everyone as we all got our heart rates and our steps up.
I remember thinking to myself why don't we do this every weekend ... until the next morning when I woke up and felt like I had been hit with a sledgehammer!
PSA
If you are ever in a position where someone needs to send you money, please make sure you don't send them ALL of your bank details.... especially not the security code as well.
This happened to me this month from a candidate, please be careful! Luckily I am a nice guy and sent a quick follow up message to thank them for the new iPhone they just bought me (joking).
EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES
I am currently on the look out for some amazing people to place in some equally amazing companies! If you are a developer of any kind looking for your next big adventure make sure to message me for a chat about what I can do to help you!
See you all next month! ??
