A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to! Exactly like my letter... I know this edition is a few days "late", but lets be honest would you have read it over the bank holiday? Absolutely not! So if anything me delaying the posting of this was actually for your benefit.. you're welcome ??

Bringing on my first client!

Since starting recruitment there has been a daunting shadow over me known as BD. I started off my recruitment career just working on the candidate side of things and I took to it straight away.. I mean I love talking to people and finding the right people for the right jobs.

However, to be able to find the people for these jobs you first need to have the jobs!

I started reaching out to new companies last month and managed to bring on my first client! What a great feeling, bringing on your first role and filling it yourself too!

I even got told by the candidate that I was the best recruiter he had ever spoken with... I have a feeling I was the only one they had ever spoken to ... but it still counts!

What have I learnt in 3 months

When I decided to change career into recruitment I knew it was going to be a big challenge but like my boy Ted Lasso says

"Taking on a challenge is a lot like riding a horse, isn't it? If you're comfortable while you're doing it, you're probably doing it wrong."

Since starting recruitment I have made a lot of errors, had some big wins and taken my fair share of losses, but what I can honestly say is that I have enjoyed every step of the way.

Recruitment gives you the highest highs and then on the flip side can give you some pretty big challenges as well, it's a roller-coaster of emotion, but as long as you are resilient and able to power through the bad then the good massively outweighs any tough times.

It's so easy to get stuck in a job that doesn't challenge you or make you happy, but in this day and age if your job is not making you happy then what are you doing to change that?

Ghost mode activated

If you're working with a recruiter they get you all the way to an interview, you agree that interview then decided to ghost the recruiter and not show to the interview. You are a D*CK!

Family problems, child care problems, medical reasons, UFO abduction all these things can be explained by a quick phone call (maybe not the last one), so why not be a decent person and just call the recruiter and say you won't be able to attend the interview. This is a quickfire way to burn a bridge with a recruiter who you may one day need!
