SCARY SEASON IS UPON US!
Welcome back to those of you who have been following along these newsletters you legends! And if this is your first time reading one of these then strap in as we visit the land where all your dreams are made!
As I think back I have literally no idea what happened to September, I had a birthday somewhere in there but other than that the whole month seems to be a distant memory now!
So, here I am writing this on Friday the 13th, Halloween just around the corner and the air smells of pumpkin spiced lattes and new job opportunities!
I'M FAMOUS!
I was flicking though YouTube the other day and stumbled across a video that I had somehow forgotten I was interviewed for!
I attended the Shropshire Biz Fest back in September and had a great time, I also managed to get a camera thrown into my face and interviewed for SBLTV (next stop sky news). So if any of you have ever wondered just how sexy I sound in person then click on this link, head to 5 minutes in and be prepared to be disappointed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXyhxKM4ik4
SPOTIFY HEALS ALL WOUNDS
It's no secret that not every minute of every day is going to be the best time of your life, sometimes things go wrong or things happen that frustrate you (like not getting on sky news).
I know that you all think that I am this always happy joyful recruiter but as a little secret, even I have bad days (shocking I know), and on these moments I have found that putting on a 90's rock playlist can cure pretty much everything instantly.
Just try being mad while singing along to Def Leppard, Kansas or even some Journey if you're into Glee! It will solve all of your problems and give you a better outlook on whatever your situation is.
NETWORKING
One of the best bits about recruitment is getting to work with some amazing clients!
In the past month I've taken out a few of clients for lunch and drinks across the North West and it has to be one of the best bits of the job. Sure it's great talking to people on the phone but actually sitting down with someone and sharing stories you just can't beat it!
And if you're reading this and thinking I don't take my clients out ever, then do it! You won't regret it.
WHO DOESN'T LOVE A GOOD OLD LETTER?
I've recently started hand writing letters and sending them out to prospects / people who have restraining order against me, funnily enough not everyone wants an unsolicited cold call. I know, I was shocked by that one too.
So to stand out you have to try things that other people aren't willing to do, plus even if nothing comes of it. I like knowing that someone thinks they're getting a really nice hand written letter from that handsome recruitment man off the telly.
That about wraps up my ramblings for another month, If you have any comments or even if you just fancy a chat feel free to slide into my DMS, i'm always happy to meet new candidates and clients!
See you next month, unless you're a loser!
