TEACH YOUR CHILDREN....to be accountants!

Some of the best advice that parents, educators, aunts and uncles can give to the youth of today is not only ethics and civility, but honest career advice and guidance.

Certainly, there are growth areas of opportunity in employment. Yet one of the time honored and consistent areas of employment has been in Accounting with an emphasis in Public Accounting.

Marcum Search is respected for providing professional recruiting services across multiple disciplines. Invariably what we see is the sector of Public Accounting being uniform in needs, year after year. The demand for talent never diminishes.

Dr. Adrian L. Mayse recently authored a book targeting our nation’s youth: “When I Grow Up I Want To Be…An Accountant.”?Sound advice to pass along and to teach to our children. Not only is there a demand for accountants, there seems to be a lack of accountants coming from inner city youth.?It would be wise for education centers to pick up on this valuable need and career path. Thus turning a need in to a solution.

To the average pedestrian, the subject of Accounting may be cut and dry. Yet, a review of open positions reveals a variety of expertise areas with a line of vertical levels from entry associate, supervisor, manager and up to partner. More opportunities for personal growth in a career path.

In short, it is probably safe to advise the next generation that if they become an Accountant, they will rarely be unemployed and their skills will not only always be in demand, but there are pathways to learn and grow.?Did I mention the financial rewards?
