How often, while working on IT solutions for your business instead of fixing a single a problem, you propose designing a functionality which would allow users to do such tasks by themselves?

When you look at the nature of change requests as a whole, you will come to the conclusion that changes in processes, variables, configuration, reports etc. are quite significant parts of them.?

Naturally things like those relatively often are changing as an adjustment to changes in business environment, support UX etc.?

As with most repeatable tasks, the best thing IT should do is to provide business with self-service solutions, by implementing a tool enabling business to manage any of the above. The benefit for organizations is obvious, for users waiting time is reduced almost to zero, and IT has less work and?can focus on more complex deliveries.

From my experience, good examples for such successful self-service solutions that can be provided by IT are:

- assignment?of operations employees to certain teams, enabling flexible?management of workload;

- self-service for accounting, working with accounting documents;

-?managing replacement in business process?management tools for operations employees;

In the last two years we had identified approximately 4 000 of such requests.??Although any single task is on average a ten-minute job, usually the?“waste” here is the time needed to?process?such a user request, which can take up to two hours.

Instead, by providing the user with self-service, the “wasted” time can be reduced.

This means in our case that 500 days of waiting time a year can be saved, and 40 days more for IT to focus on complex tasks.??

there is a need for an update on self-service as right now some new opportunities are delivered: 1) #PrzemekKonopka and #DanielZar?ba and #leasnowteam – implementation of rules engine is a great example of how to give?Product?Manager the agency, with no need to wait for IT development or configuration; 2) #AdamBanaszkiewicz and the #NewBOKTeam – a POC with a voice bot in customer service creates the opportunity to provide the customer with communication best suited to the needs - you move it to a new level! :-) 3) #AnnaSienkiewicz and #NSTDscrum – a general agreement?with a process serving it and simplification in its roll-out for big customers – flexibility, simplicity?and self-service – it's going to be a?firecracker! congrats on the above :)

Congratulations on the achieved result. Such activities confirm that regardless of the workload, time and money should always be invested in increasing productivity. The lack of such actions is very aptly summarized in the attached picture.
