Recently, TCS was selected as the 4th ranked company in the U.S. (and top tech firm) on Indeed’s 2023 Better Work Awards, honoring leading organizations for wellbeing. This recognition is particularly gratifying because employees themselves determined the winners—rating their work well-being across four key indicators: happiness, purpose, satisfaction, and stress.
This honor follows TCS being included in LinkedIn’s 2023 U.S. Top Companies list, Fortune Magazine’s 2023 World’s Most Admired Companies list, the 2023 Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers, and the 2023 CareerBliss Happiest Companies list.
Our people thrive here at TCS thanks to the company’s focus on four key areas: career growth, purpose, learning and skills, and personal wellness.
Career Growth: We offer tremendous opportunities for our people to grow their careers through new experiences and roles, especially through lateral career movement across a variety of diverse fields. The TCS global talent cloud enables individuals with specific industry knowledge and technology expertise to be tapped for client projects in specific sectors across the world, keeping their work fresh, interesting, and impactful.
Purpose: From the day of our founding, TCS has been a purpose-driven enterprise. Now more than ever, people want to work for companies that align with their values, and TCS offers our people an abundance of opportunities to give back. We have always attracted and retained employees who aligned with values like volunteerism, education, and commitment to the community. ?One of our programs that has seen tremendous success is Go Innovate Together (goIT)? a career-readiness initiative that gets young people interested in STEM careers by challenging them to find ways technology can make people agents of social and environmental change.
Learning and Skills: When TCSers come to work each day, they are encouraged to take online courses and learn new skills, like Generative AI. Indeed, so far this year our #TCSNA people have logged more than 1.4 million learning hours, utilizing innovative tools powered by AI that deliver individually customized career training programs. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, our people can explore different careers within the company and are better situated to solve a wide range of industry challenges.
Personal Wellness: Fitness—both physical and mental—is paramount at TCS. We proudly sponsor and support major endurance running events like the TCS NYC Marathon, the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and the Chicago Marathon, to name a few. We also believe in the holistic well-being of our employees, both their physical and mental health. Our TCS Fit4life program leads associates to better health using the pursuit of fitness as a common goal, and the TCS Yoga Council offers regular yoga sessions. On top of that, our TCS Cares initiative is designed to help associates cope with mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, and depression.
I am proud of this acknowledgment of our focus on well-being and growth, which has helped TCS consistently maintain among the highest employee retention rates in our sector. This award confirms that our success as a company is truly driven by the people of #TCSNA.
