Prevent Christmas Chaos and New Year Nightmares by asking yourself...
Q1 - What's more effective?

B - Doing little things every day at a manageable pace.

Answer –B is way more effective, sustainable and doesn’t come gift wrapped with a heap of added stress right when you don't need it!
Doing little things consistently really adds up overtime, best of all you don’t notice the extra effort - winner!
Q2 - When is the best time to plan your career?
A – When you are already stressed to the eyeballs and can’t think straight...?
B - When you can approach the task at hand calmly?
Answer - Unsurprisingly, B! When you’re stuck in fight or flight mode you can’t access the higher order thinking you need to be able to effectively plan, leaving you wide open to making decisions based out of fear instead of opportunity.
The best time to plan your career is when you’re feeling GOOD. If that hasn’t happened in a while, instead of being future focused, take time out to remember past successes and achievements to get that feel good factor back first!
Q3. How do you ‘do Christmas’ AND stay on top of your career?
A – By working harder than Santa’s elves on Christmas Eve, but for an entire month, just to justify a few days off ...
B – You don’t. Instead, you stop and ask yourself what you really want to achieve? To pull off that all important deal or enjoy time with the fam - both good choices, which is right for you?
Answer - B has it again! Life is a series of choices, focusing on what you *really* want to achieve helps you to make better ones for?you.
Bonus tip?- take 5 minutes NOW to think about your top achievements for the year. Why? So you can start the festivities early with a feel good factor, give your Linkedin profile an early spring clean and be prepped and ready for when those head hunters start calling in January!
Whatever you are doing/not doing, TCM wishes you all the very best.
