TCM is a leading and award-winning provider of conflict resolution, culture change and leadership development programmes
Hey.
It's a bit of a whirlwind living in the UK, isn't it? I feel like I say that every week.
If you want to talk about it, keep reading to see our take on how to ensure your leadership is stable and won't end in complete and utter disaster.?
If you don't want to talk about it, I get it. Fancy some good news instead? We had our TCM Business Conference on Monday and it was AMAZING. Our colleagues and consultants finally had the chance to *gasp* meet face to face and it was seriously worth it.
One of those consultants, Nick Snaith, has his very own webinar coming up next month. Make sure to sign up to see what he's got to say on investigations.
And one of our colleagues, Malachi, has written an insightful blog on the cost of conflict. Don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom. We're here to provide the support you need to turn your company culture around - whether that's through leadership, resolution or change management.?
I hope we're the good news in the whirlwind of bad.
If there is anything you would like to see in your weekly newsletter, please do let me know. We welcome any feedback.

The TCM Business Conference ?
Instead, we want to say a huge thank you to all the consultants that travelled to TCM HQ on Monday for our Business Conference.
That’s Gemma, Nick, Suzanna, Charlotte, Marjorie, David, Eva, Polly, Pip, Anup, Elizabeth, James, Rosie and Rebecca. See who you can spot in the photos above.
Thank you also to all of our speakers, including Mark O'Reilly from Fitvision, the caterers, photographer, our design team at Aubergine, and of course to Cameron for organising the event.
We had a fantastic day talking wellbeing, the future of TCM, the power of storytelling and much, much more. It was great to connect with everyone on all our successes and share stories. Here’s to the next one.
Losing Truss in Leadership ??
I’m sure you’ve heard the news. Making history as the shortest Prime Minister in British history, Liz Truss has resigned after 45 days consumed by uncertainty, U-turns and a lack of transparency. Whatever your political stance, it shows a real connection between a leader and their respective team to govern with accountability, responsibility and success.
What can we learn from this??
A great leader guides teams with strong values, connected behaviours and clear principles. Effective leaders ask questions about company culture, look deeply at employee and customer experience, and build supportive structures that share authority amongst Boards, senior leadership and employees. We call it values-based leadership.
Values define what an organisation stands for and exists to achieve. They provide clarity on the behaviours that are valued and those which aren’t. When they are shared among, and owned by all employees, they create a powerful sense of connection, essential for high performance, employee happiness and business health.
Don’t let your teams lose Truss(t). Lead with values with our 2-day Values Based Leadership course.
Nick's Knack for Investigations ??
As you know, workplace investigations can be tricky to undertake. Establishing the truth from multiple accounts, viewpoints and involved parties is not for the faint-hearted and requires honed skills.
At times, this may require the investigator to separate fact from fiction, in order to come to a reasonable outcome based on the ‘balance of probabilities.’
In this, the very latest episode in our popular ‘Culture Clinic’ series, one of our most experienced investigators, Nick Snaith will be sharing his insights and experiences drawn from a full variety of workplace cases.
?? Wednesday 9th?November
?? 12.30-1.30pm
?? Online via Zoom
Join us. Nick’s got a knack for investigations.
The Cost of Conflict ??
?Each year, organisations spend billions, both in terms of time and money on internal conflict. Outdated processes and policies can often exasperate issues; amplifying their impact and causing damage to organisations, individuals, teams and workplace culture.
The cost? £28.5 billion annually in the UK alone.
?? £12.8 billion is spent on formal HR procedures, including grievances, disciplinary cases and dismissals cost
?? £11.9 billion accrued cost is from the impact of resignations
?? £2.2 billion is spent due to sickness absence
The way forward is with the Resolution Framework. It’s proven to reduce the financial?and?human cost of workplace conflict. Read Malachi’s latest blog to find out exactly how this is true.
