Colleague of the Week???
Meeting Stephen Adams is like discovering an unexpected glimpse of gold inside a treasure chest. If you jump on a 30-minute call with him, you’d expect to be talking facts, figures and future projects. Whilst that will certainly be the agenda, with an agreed action plan at the end, you’ll also leave the meeting feeling strangely rejuvenated, uplifted and appreciated. Steve has a way of turning any interaction into a positive one, possessing the unusual ability to weave golden thread through a typically sour scenario. It’s that innate human power to transform those around him to be better by injecting charisma, curiosity and charm into everything he says and does.
Steve turns mistakes into miracles – all the way from chance encounters and scheduled meetings to organisation-wide cultural change projects. That’s precisely why he’s our Head of Transformation Programmes… and our Colleague of the Week!
Recently, he delivered our Quality Conversations training course to a group of delegates. Guess what? They were charmed. Here are a few of the comments given…
???"Stephen Adams is an amazing trainer. He has a passion for what he delivers."
???"It was an excellent day - easy to relate to and an invaluable learning experience."
???"Very engaging, fun and friendly facilitator. The course had so many useful tools and strategies that are practical in practice."
Need I say more? Steve is truly the treasure of TCM.
Unlock Memories ??
At TCM, we’re strong advocates for cognitive interviewing, a technique designed to trigger live recollection and associated emotional responses. In biological terms, memory is a reconstructive process that is susceptible to distortion. This has severe consequences in the courtroom, as prosecutors misconceive memory to be more veridical than it actually is.
Cognitive interviewing takes the witness back to the event, requiring a lot of time and space, to bridge those memory gaps. It’s the most effective way to interview. Fact.
Luckily, we want to share this tool with you: meet our Cognitive Interviewing Skills training course. In just half a day, you’ll come to understand:
?? Cognitive interviewing skills and its links to effective communication and active listening
?? General rules of a conversation and how these change in cognitive interviews
领英推荐
?? How the truth can become distorted
Prepare to be engaged and enlightened. It’ll fly by.
Develop a Fair Culture ?
Imagine working for an organisation with a clearly defined purpose. One where leaders are committed to unlocking our inner brilliance and nurturing our happiness, health, and harmony. One where mistakes are opportunities for growth, and profit and integrity go hand in hand. This isn’t a childhood fantasy or dream. You needn’t change jobs. This is a transformational culture.
Join David, Head of Transformation Programmes Steve, and award-nominated Anthony Fitzpatrick from Aviva as they discuss how you can build that transformational culture into your own organisation.
The session will include:
?? An introduction to Transformational Culture
?? Why does culture matter?
?? The various consultancy and support packages available via The TCM Group
?? The Culture Catalyst Programme: a unique training opportunity
?? Pioneering culture change: an award-nominated approach at Aviva
Turn that imagination into reality.
The Power of Coaching ????
We put people first, and we practice what we preach.
Recently, we’ve noticed an emerging need for something other than conflict resolution and leadership development. With the strains of everyday life, coupled with continual global emergencies, our way of working has changed. We’ve changed, our cultures have changed, and our teams have changed.
New forms have emerged with the proliferation of self-directed start-up methodology, agile working, and virtual workspaces.?Team functions are also more distributed and horizontal, with a growing number of businesses placing more responsibility and authority in their team members, rather than just in their leaders.?We need to take more care to understand how these post-pandemic teams work, behave and perform.
Teams, when working together effectively and efficiently, can perform much better than individuals do alone. But for many years, boosting productivity has been focused on individuals; however performance management is proven to have a disappointing return on investment.
In fact, only 10% of teams rate themselves as high performing before starting a team coaching engagement. It’s clear that the real focus should be on the power and synergy of our teams to build the best workplace cultures.
The answer? That lies in coaching.
Studies have shown that organisations with coached teams have a culture that is:
Happier teams equal healthier workplaces. The key to building a high-functioning team is to have a shared vision. When the team works together with one common goal in mind, everyone wins.
Team coaching is just one of the routes you can take. There’s many more styles of coaching on offer. Here’s a sneak peek at our new Engage Coaching site, designed to guide you, your teams and your organisation through life in a holistic, happy and healthy way.
