TBT In Real Life: Take one night for you

Some days, it feels like work and family responsibilities are consuming every bit of mental space. We can feel grateful for our lives, yet with so many have-to-dos, life can start to feel like a slog.

The solution? Take one night for you. This is one of my favorite time management rules (Rule #7 in my new book, Tranquility by Tuesday) because it can be so transformative. Each week, take a few hours to do something fun that is not work, and is not caring for family members. You will return with renewed energy for all your commitments.?

I promise it works…but you don’t just need to take my word for it! Elisa Ung, a book collaborator and mother of two, spent much of her time meeting client needs and family needs. Then she learned this rule, and realized she could carve out time once a week or so to go to a museum or to a Wednesday matinee (cheaper and easier to win lotteries than shows on weekends — she once got Hamilton tickets for $10!)

Please check out the first video in my Tranquility by Tuesday In Real Life series to see how this rule made daily life feel better for Elisa. If you like the video, please share it! I’d love to give it a big audience.

And please check out Tranquility by Tuesday, which is on sale this week! I’m so excited to see this project all come together.??
