Tax Freedom Day is a "real" thing!

Tax Freedom Day was conceived in the 1940s to help people understand how much of their money all levels of American government take in taxes by asking a simple question. If the average worker sent his entire paycheck to the government starting on January 1, how many days would he have to work before he got to keep any of his own money? The day his wages become his own is Tax Freedom Day, which is calculated every year by the Tax Foundation. Tax Freedom Day typically falls in April.

So when you pay your taxes to Uncle Sam today, be thankful that Tax Freedom Day just so happens to fall on 4/16 for 2024! That means starting tomorrow, you get to start working for yourself!

As you send in final tax bill for 2023, there is something to also ponder, in 2023 our government spent:

- $659 Billion for Interest on the National Debt

- We have $36 Trillion of National Debt. Another way of putting that, our National Debt goes up by $1 Trillion every 100 days. Or $266,000 per tax payer!

- We have $214 Trillion of unfunded liabilities, which goes up by $1,000,000 every 3 seconds! Which comes to $637,000 per tax payer!

We have CRAZY Debt in this country yet our illustrious leaders spent:

- $250,000 for the Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education Archives, named after former Ku Klux Klan chapter leader and senator

- $6 Million to Boost Egyptian Tourism

- $388,000 to Columbia University in New York, a private university with a $13.6 billion endowment

- $1 million granted to SAGE, an elderly LGBT+ advocacy group

- $477K to study if monkeys can exhibit transgender by giving them female hormones

- $549K for "Zombie" Russian cats by severing their spinal column and giving them electrical charges to make the cats walk transforming them into the walking kitty dead!

I am pretty sure they will have some more prime examples of your money being wasted in 2024!
