As your January is coming to a close, I thought it important to begin to share with you some little known things about some things you may or may not have in place.

Life Insurance Can Create Tax Free Income

I nerd out on insurance so I notice headlines like this one from 2016. If you're not an insurance nerd or a Michigan State fan than you missed this.

This decision was rather GENIUS for Jim Harbaugh!!

Not only will the money he generates in this policy grow TAX FREE, it also will follow the market WITHOUT LOSSES. Below is a table showing this concept comparing the performance of the S&P 500 vs an indexed life product. Seeing this shows you why Jim made this decision!

Now you understand why the wealthy do this! The key reasons are:

1. Funds that accumulate can be accessed tax free
2. Funds grow following some index so you can play in the market
3. There is typically a guaranteed minimum or "floor" on this strategy so you don't have red years
4. When the policy owner dies the money passes tax free unlike other investment tools

This is something nearly anyone can do. It's math so your situation is always different from someone else, but there is a winning situation for you.

This is why it is important to review your coverages. I know many folks just finished their open enrollment. Take inventory on what you have or get someone that speaks insurance to review what you have.
