TATA Motors Bags Big EV Contract From DTC, Fame II Supports 766,000+ EVs in India, New Products Launched & More

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, announced that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has signed a definitive agreement with its fully owned subsidiary, TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. for the operation of 1500 electric buses in the city of New Delhi. As part of the agreement, TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. will supply, operate and maintain 1500 units of 12-metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses for a period of 12 years. Tata Starbus EV is an indigenously developed vehicle with superior design and best-in-class features for a sustainable and comfortable commute.

Under Phase-II of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME India) Scheme, 7,66,478 Electric Vehicles have been supported till 19th?December 2022 by way of a Demand Incentive amounting to about Rs. 3,311 Cr.?Further, the Ministry of Heavy Industries has sanctioned 6315 e-buses to 65 cities/STUs/CTUs/ State Govt. entities for intracity and intercity operations across 26 states/UT under the Scheme.?

The Ministry has also sanctioned 2877 charging stations in 68 cities across 25 states/UTs under FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India) Scheme Phase II.

Saera Electric Auto has signed a?contract manufacturing arrangement?with ETO Motors for Electric Mobility as a Service (EMaaS) and Charging/Energy as a Service (CaaS). ETO has its manufacturing facility at Hyderabad and is working with SAERA to improve its micro-assembly strategy in order to deploy more efficiently across the region. They will also work together to develop battery solutions for other vehicle brands than ETO.?ETO Motors Electric Vehicles will be made at the Saera Electric Plant, Bawal at Haryana as part of the collaboration.

Gulf Oil Lubricants India, a Hinduja Group company, has entered into an exclusive partnership with Altigreen to supply fluids for electric vehicles like brakes as well as gear oils. The tie-up will allow Gulf to manufacture customized EV fluids for Altigreen and provide access to its R&D capabilities, allowing it to build a comprehensive portfolio of fluids specifically designed for EV use.

Exicom Group’s chief executive stated that the company plans to double its turnover to Rs 1,000 crore for its charging venture in the next four years, based on rapid growth of demand for electric cars (EVs), reports ET.
