Tata to gas, hello to hydrogen.....
This week, we've got stories that are hotter than a blast furnace so, let's hoist the anchor and set sail!
First up, Tata Steel has started hydrogen blast furnace tests, proving that they're not just blowing hot air when it comes to reducing emissions. We’re excited to see how this technology develops.
Speaking of hot air, the sea surface temperatures have hit a new record high. It's almost like the ocean is trying to tell us something, but we're too busy arguing about whether or not climate change is real. Spoiler alert: it is.
In less exciting news, energy suppliers may raise bills by up to 30% to pay off their debts. It's like that old saying. We're hoping this doesn't become a trend, but we're not holding our breath.
Finally, Iceland is keeping its carbon underground, but how? Is it a secret volcanic lair or some kind of mystical energy vortex? Actually, it's just a process called carbon capture and storage. It's not as sexy as a James Bond villain's hideout, but it's definitely more practical.
