Tashkent International Investment Forum

It was a great pleasure to take part in this year's Tashkent International Investment Forum (May 2 and 3). I was part of the panel "Revitalization of the Great Silk Road" which discussed the impact of the expanding rail, road and other transport networks across, and within, Central Asia and the Caucasus. The conclusion is that while the major networks (BRI, INSTC, TRACECA) are primarily aimed at connecting Europe with China and Russia with the Gulf and South Asia, the big winnners are the countries in Central Asia which now have multiple routes to expand trade with more partners.
Note: Macro-Advisory has issued a review of all the major transport routes, (existing, under construction and planned) and which looks at the implications for trade expansion. A summary of the "21st Century Silk Road" report will shortly be uploaded for free download on the home page at www.macro-advisory.com
