On target but increased ambitions ahead

At Lantm?nnen Unibake, we understand that our strength lies in our diverse workforce. As we navigate the evolving landscape of talent acquisition and retention, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where employees of all ages, genders, and backgrounds can thrive.

?? Attracting next-generation talent

We are proud to say that we are not just meeting our People-related goals in our sustainability strategy—we're exceeding them! Our Chief Human Resources Officer, Sonja Admiraal Bentzen, emphasizes that our recruitment process for young talent, including graduates, interns, and apprentices, is flourishing.

“Candidates today seek employers with clear sustainability goals, and we are proud to have a robust green agenda that resonates with the next generation,

?? The Power of experience

While attracting young professionals is crucial, we must also leverage the immense value of seasoned employees. With a global workforce that is aging, we recognize the need to rethink traditional retirement norms.

Sonja notes, “It’s a waste to see employees fully retire at 62 or 65. They still have so much to offer.” We are developing tailored programs to provide flexible job solutions for our experienced team members, enabling them to continue contributing their expertise while enjoying a better work-life balance.

Moreover, we are challenging the biases surrounding adaptability. “Adaptability is not age-related; it’s about mindset,” Sonja states, reminding us that both young and seasoned employees can learn from each other.

? Promoting diversity across all dimensions

Diversity is a cornerstone of our company culture. We actively seek to combine different nationalities, genders, ages, and experiences to foster creativity and innovation. Sonja believes that diverse teams lead to better outcomes: “It’s good for a process to have different people working towards a common goal. It frees creativity and makes work more enjoyable.”

For instance, young employees excel in using digital tools, while seasoned employees bring a wealth of experience and an understanding of interdependencies across departments. This collaboration can yield powerful results.

As part of our commitment to gender equality, we have set a target to achieve a 45/45 gender split in management by 2030. While we are moving in the right direction, we recognize that attracting female candidates to managerial roles is a challenge. To address this, we are reviewing our job ads and amplifying the success stories of our female leaders to inspire future candidates.
