Your guiding force!

Your guiding force!

The concept of purpose has always been a beacon in the vast sea of life's questions for me. It's a word I’ve often pondered, especially when I look at the legacy left by the world's most influential leaders and organisations. Behind every great success story, I found a recurring theme: a compelling defining purpose that galvanises an entire community and organisation to rally behind it and achieve the extraordinary.

I naturally aligned myself with my company's goals and objectives throughout my career. Their mission became my mission. Their success metrics became the barometer for my professional achievements. But as years passed, a nagging thought grew in my mind's recesses. Was the company's purpose indeed my purpose? Or was there another calling, a personal urge waiting to be acknowledged and pursued?

It wasn't that the company's purpose lacked meaning or impact. On the contrary, it had its value and importance. But with introspection, I realised that deep down, my core values, passions, and aspirations were steering me in a different direction. This inner conflict wasn't immediate or even uncomfortable at first. It was subtle, like a faint background noise growing gradually louder.

This realisation wasn't overnight. It took years for me to grasp the extent of this distinction fully. But when I did, the urge became overpowering. It became a force, guiding my decisions, actions, and desires. It's as if the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle were slowly falling into place, and the picture it revealed was one of passion, purpose, and profound personal fulfilment.

After 25 years in a job, this newfound clarity and drive led me to make one of the most significant decisions of my life: to embark on a new journey—a journey defined not by external expectations or pre-set paths but by my purpose.

My story is not about advocating for drastic changes or questioning one's current path. It's a testament to the transformative power of understanding one's true purpose. It’s about recognising that inner voice, which, when honestly heard, can reshape your destiny.

The purpose is not just a buzzword or a corporate mission statement. It's the essence of who you are and what you want to contribute to the world. And when this purpose aligns with your actions, the results are not just impactful; they're transformative. Whether you’re in the early stages of your career, amidst a mid-life introspection, or approaching a new chapter, I urge you to delve deep, find that purpose, and let it guide you. For in it lies the potential to reshape your future and the impact you leave behind.

Love your honesty Mukund and it so resonates with my own journey. I felt this gnawing urge to find my ‘why’, my sense of purpose or calling. Helping people on their health journey is what charges my batteries. This is my why. Finding my purpose has been liberating. I agree totally with you that we need to follow our heart and what can come out of that quest is nothing but pure joy and contentment.
