Taper
It takes all kinds of people to make this world.
And it takes all kinds of tasks that make our world.
Some tasks are easy, some quick, some a breeze.
These tasks are easy to start, quick to accomplish, and a breeze to schedule in your to do list.
However, most tasks are either difficult, time?consuming, or complicated.
These tasks give rise to procrastination, laziness, or giving up.
And rightly so.
It's all in the mind.
Easy tasks motivate, get you started, and get done without breaking a sweat.
But tough, long-drawn, and complicated tasks deter you from starting, discourage you to continue, and distress makes you give up without finishing.
Is there a way out?
Yes.
Taper.
Tough tasks can be broken down into bites.
Long? term targets can be broken to mini milestones.
Difficult tasks can be indulged with easier beginnings.
So if you are procrastinating to start a 5 km jog, start with a km. Begin.
If you are giving up a task that takes longer, take a pause. Continue.
If you lose your mojo after a certain point, refresh and restart. Persist.
Taper is a mantra for all reasons and seasons.
