Mental Health Awareness Week
This month we actively took part in raising Mental Health Awareness by engaging in insightful discussions with two of our wonderful coaches, Doug Middleton and Amanda Howe.
Mandy emphasised the importance of seeking support when needed, highlighting that prioritising mental health is key for your overall well-being. She reassured individuals that they are not alone, and signposted various resources to aid them through challenging times.
Doug shared his knowledge and perspective of supporting GP practices and the NHS about mental health, and what changes they had to make to support mental health issues and challenges more recently.
Mandy and Doug also shared some tips to prevent feeling overwhelmed at work and maintaining your mental health:
1. Give yourself permission to take breaks in the workplace
2. Make time for things that you love in life
3. Learn to say no to additional responsibilities – set boundaries
4. Break tasks down into smaller chunks
5. As a manager, delegate
6. Make self-care a priority
And the major common point both Mandy and Doug gave was talk to someone. Talk to someone you trust about how you are feeling, reach out to colleagues, manager, friends, GP, anyone…

This month, we've dedicated ourselves to raising awareness about mental health. Exercise plays a vital role in maintaining positive mental health, making it essential for everyone to participate. Whether it's hitting the gym, engaging in sports, or simply taking a stroll in the park, getting active is crucial.
Recently Sport England have released a new campaign, ‘Let’s Get Out There’ in order to inspire women to be more active outdoors. They aim to promote the mental and physical benefits of exercise within nature, for women of all cultural diverse backgrounds.
